You will need very short nails to be able to do the techniques without “spiking” your partners! Please wear sports clothes as it is easier to work through lycra than through jeans. If you have one, bring a massage table or a reflexology chair and let us know if you can bring one.
This is a short course based on the work of Ross Emmett and is called Emmett 4 Humans where you will learn 9 of his best moves taken from his 12 module workshop. You will be able to use these techniques immediately on your family and friends but you may not call yourself an Emmett Practitioner unless you go on to do 6 of his modules.
What you will learn (Approved syllabus version:2011)
Day 1 (Emmtech introductory short course)
- Foot Balance – 2 ways to relax the feet
- Gastroc Calf Release – relax the calf
- ITB/Sartorius – relax the knees
- Lat Dorsi – relax the back and shoulders
- Diaphragm – relax the abdomen and chest
- Forearm – relax the arm and hands
- AC & Biceps – relax the shoulder
- SCM Neck Release – relax the neck
CPD Points
Emmett 4 Humans Short Course (Day 1) is recognised by the Federation of Holistic Therapists. They are 8 hour courses so 8 CPD (Continuous Professional Development) points are awarded. It is also accredited with AoR and with Complementary Health Professionals. If you are a member of any other association you will need to approach them to ask if you will gain CPD points for a non-accredited course.
Course Fees
- All bookings are subject to a non-refundable element due at the time of booking
- US$225 course fee. The non-refundable element is $100
- Course dates and venues are subject to change. Please keep this in mind when booking transport and accommodation.
- Refund and Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made up to 31 days prior to a workshop (August 6, 2025) will receive a full refund (minus the non-refundable $100 per day). Cancellation fees will be calculated at 100% of the course fee if cancellations occur within 31 days (August 6, 2025) of a workshop. No refund will be given for cancellations within 31 days of a workshop. This is because flights and hotels will have been purchased.
